I am Betsy Hallstrom, an experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for elementary education. I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Work from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in teaching, with a specialization in elementary education, from American University.

Throughout my teaching career I have been committed to fostering the growth and development of young minds. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade students in diverse educational settings, including Washington, D.C., Lincoln, Nebraska, and Wichita, Kansas. My experiences in these varied environments have honed my ability to connect with students from many different  backgrounds and adapt my teaching methods to meet their unique needs.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is the belief that in order to effectively educate children, it is imperative to understand and connect with them on multiple levels. I recognize that each child is an individual with their own learning style, strengths, and challenges. I strive to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel heard, valued, and supported. I am a strong advocate for holistic education, aiming to address not only academic needs but also social and emotional development.
